About Lutheran Student Fellowship at University Lutheran Church

Lutheran Student Fellowship LCMS at ULC, Austin is a chapter of the national Lutheran Student Fellowship network of university campus ministries within the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. This group forms University Lutheran Church, the campus ministry of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod located at University Lutheran Center.

This student ministry serves students from both the University of Texas and Concordia University at Austin and is committed to helping students and staff in these academic environments discover and fulfill their calling in Jesus Christ through worship, service, and friendship.

Worship is central to what we do. The Holy Eucharist is offered at each Sunday service. The study of Scripture is considered vital to our ministry as we see God's primary revelation of Self in the Person of Jesus Christ. This campus ministry is a context where students can explore the questions and meaning of their Christian faith and reach out to others with the Good News about our Lord.

Service to the larger community is an essential part of our mission. Servant events, both local and international, include Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and CAN-DO Spring Break Mission trips to Mexico.

Welcome events, regular get-togethers - Sunday Nite Suppers, Family Groups - retreats, and spirited social events are key to community building. Through this kind of sharing and mutual support in the midst of college life, lasting friendships are formed. Regional and national gatherings offer connections with fellow Lutheran collegians from other schools.

This campus ministry is supported by the Texas District of the LCMS. It has existed as University Lutheran Church, where Word and Sacrament have been shared, since 1953. We believe that we can serve our Lord with spirit, strength, body, and also, mind. We are committed to building a Christian community through the mutual support of one another in the Spirit of Christ.
